Clearing in box?

Hi,

A friend of mine just told me that she is changing ISP's and that the new
ISP cautioned her to move all her messages from the inbox to a temporary
folder before making the switch. They said that changing the email account
might delete all the messages in her in box. Is this accurate or even
possible? Seems odd to me but then again I've never done it myself.

Thanks in advance,
Linn

It's complete TOSH and again highlights the abysmal standard of staff ISPs
get by (presumably) paying peanuts for wages.....changing the email details
will have NO effect WHATSOEVER on email that is already downloaded...

Gordon, that's what I was thinking but I've never tried it myself so thought
I'd ask.
Thanks for responding,
Linn
