I have applied service patch 2 to my laptop. I'm still experiencing
the same problem. The message has changed slightly. It now says
'error clearing the ARP cache' I can perform some tasks like; windows
update,
send/retrieve outlook mail but I can't access the internet. Tried
firefox browse as well.

PS: If anyone cares, I'll send you a Gmail (google mail) invite
should you help me solve this!!!! Thanks in advance!

See below for more details,
Please help

It sounds like your winsock is corrupted.
Try to paste this link into your windows explorer (since
IE doesn't work) and download the repair tool for windows
XP. If you can't get to the internet then have a friend
download it for you.
Good luck !

JR!

I was able to find the fix you mentioned by searching through google
under 'winsock fix'.

I applied the winsock fix and everything works perfect now!

Thanks!
Danny Palmer
