I downloaded ClearIECache.msi from MS
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en)
and installed in my PC (Win XP Pro SP2/IE 6). It said "The program is
installed successfully and Running". How should i use it to clear all
the history, temp files and cookies?

Thank you!!

Instructions on the web site say:

*Note- The program must be run each time the user wishes to
automatically delete all temporary Internet files, cookies, and
history files.

Try just running ClearIECache.msi each time as per the instructions
(the way I read them, anyway)

Thank you for your reply!

I don't quite agree with you. I think "The program must be run..." means
to run a xxx.exe file. Running ClearIECache.msi will install the
program to the PC if it is not already there. Or repair/uninstall the
program if it is already installed. I monitored the installation process
and found no exe file was installed. I really do not know how to run the
program.

anyone has a clue.

OK. I just weakened and installed it.
While I think it is a waste of space and poorly documented, this is
how it seems to me to work.

First time in: installing ClearIECache.msi and jumping through the
hoops clears the cache.

Next time in: Removing it then reinstalling ClearIECache.msi and
jumping through the hoops clears the cache.

There is no other program as you know already by monitoring it.

Why you would run it more than once when it is to "clear these files
when a corrupt entry caused errors " is beyond me.
I guess it should be run when necessary and then removed.
Do you consistently have a corrupt entry causing errors?
