I have tried everything I know to do this but haven't done
it yet. I did a search on welder's for a Christmas present
in (Yahoo.com) for my husband now whenever a W is pressed
a drop down displays welder.... this is not good! How can
I clear the contents in this box? Is there anyway to turn
off the history? I already cleared history and it's not
going away.

Highlight "welder" and press the Delete key....

Go to the TOOLS tab on your browser, select INTERNET
OPTIONS,then click on the CLEAR HISTORY button, that will
remove all addresses from the address bar, and it won't
give WELDER as a choice when you type W.
