When using disk cleanup, compress old files is an option.
Are these files being compressed or deleted along with the
others? Have there been problems. Should compress old
files be left alone? ie no checkmark?

The quention's a bit vague, but here's what happens: Some files are being
compressed, others are being deleted. AFIAK, No file is compressed first,
then deleted. Summary: the compressed files are not being deleted.

I've never had a problem w/ it. But Bob says he has. I'd err on the side of
caution.
