Is there an easy (E-A-S-Y) way to clean up the registery in WinXP Pro
without having to buy expensive software? I recall a few years ago
that such a program was included in Norton's Systems, but I no longer
have that.

What other "tune-up" procedures are available?

Thanks.

Try RegSeeker (free) from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/regseeker.html

Good luck

It doesn't get any easier than this one. RegClean from Microsoft. Here is a link to get it http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...C4666%2C00.asp
While you're at it why not look for NTRegOpt. It's easy as well and compacts the registry. Have fun.

This program is no longer supported by Microsoft. Any worries? Does
MS offer anything newer that would be as easy to use?

Also, it doesn't list XP as a compatable OS for this utility. I think
XP is an outgrowth of NT, right?

You're right. It's not recommended for XP. The registry structure is very
different in XP then the ones that were in use the last time RegClean was
updated.
