I am trying to clean up my HD's and find many files with a .tmp extension.
I understand they can be removed with no problem. Am I correct?

Thank you.

Yes, but I would recommend that you download and install Crap Cleaner
from http://www.ccleaner.com/ It's an excellent tool to clean out all
the crap that XP accumulates. I run it first thing after I boot up in
the morning. It has a feature to not delete cookies you may want to save
for log in purposes, etc.

Why not use use disk clean up. It's safer.

Compared to Crap Cleaner, it's pretty lame.

Yes, I agree Alias, but disk cleanup is certainly safer for the novice user.

Thank you. I did run Disk Clean up but it didn't get rid of them.

I never had any problem with it being unsafe.

You might want to check to see if Crap Cleaner has an update. Be sure to
untick the Yahoo Tool Bar that it offers during the install.
