I have tried cleaning the printhead by dipping in boiling water, but I am
still getting banding. I'd like to inject some iso-propyl alcohol into the
cartridge, but I can't find a shop that sells it. Some people have
suggesting injecting Windolene into the cartridge, but I think its too
thick.

Can anyone suggest a good solvent thaT I can buy (in the UK), or any other
product that I can inject into the cartridge that will clean the jets
while it prints.

Thanks

Andy

I think when they suggested Windowlene, they meant the clear iso
stuff.......not the pink pasty type :-)

Windolene (Windex USA) is the clear green window cleaning fluid - and Mr
Muscle does just as well. The ammonia contant acts as a solvent for dye
based inks.
Some extended advice is here www.inkylink.co.uk

I have got the clear windolene (not the pink, or the green(??)).
I still think the liquid looks a bit thick. I know people use it with
success. I am wondering if the clear uk Windowlene (no mentionof Ammonia
by the way, does not smell of it either) is different from Windex?

Thanks for responding

Your thinking of the Windolene cream cleaner, all the advice is to
use the runny one that comes in a spray can. This is simmilar to
windex that's available in the US. Isopropyl Alcohol is not good for
cleaning printheads as it removes the oil, leaving the colour behind,
if it's a pigment ink you've got that to contend with as well, runny
windolene does not cause the above problem.

don't bother me with insignificiant nonsence such as spelling,
I don't care if it spelt properly
