How to clean up my live website?

I changed the name of some of my WebPages. I then published the new web,
"Publish all pages, overwriting pages already on destination".

The new web pages work fine but FP did not delete the old, obsolete pages on
the server. I ended up removing the old, redundant pages manually from the
live web.

Is there a better way? It always scares me when I go into the web-server and
start deleting stuff. Using FP 2003.

Once you have done a complete publish, you then do a publish with changed
pages only.

You have to publish with the Change Pages Only option selected for FP to delete.
