Clean Installation of Windows XP

I inherited a computer from someone else at work. Windows
XP was already installed. I want to erase everything on
the drive and reinstall everything from scratch so that I
have a "fresh" computer. How do I do that? I searched the
microsoft web site but couldn't find anything. I tried to
reinstall windows XP from scratch, but now I have to
Windows XP choices (a sort of dual-boot configuration).
