I have a dual boot (XP and Vista) and it works fine. Back when
installing I first installed XP and then Vista - smooth and easy.

I use XP for video editing and I get BSOD using Adobe Premiere CS3.
Very annoying. I can't work out why it happens so I now want to
"clean" XP. The only way I know how is to reinstall the OS. However, I
don't want to touch my Vista OS so I wonder if this is possible.

Any thoughts?

Hi Stroy,

You can try to do the following :
Boot your system to Vista. then right click on "My Computer" to go to
properties window.

Select the advanced tab, and click settings under "Startup and Recovery". At
the system startup section you have to ENSURE that the default OS that being
used by the machine is set to Windows VISTA. Then you can uncheck the option
for "Time to display list of OS".

Click on the Edit button and txt file should pops up. Find a line that LOOK
SOMETHING LIKE [ multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft XP
Professional" /fastdetect ] and DELETE it.

That should be it actually, and if you would like you can remove the root
folder for your XP AFTER the above procedures.

Yes, of course. Do a clean install of XP, being very careful to install on
the correct partition/drive. After the installation is finished, insert
your Vista install DVD and do Startup Repair. This will replace Vista's
boot files.

Or install a third-party boot manager first.
