hi, can you help?
I recently found malware on my comp which despite all efforts to remove
will not budge, so, i'm gonna do a clean install. (its had it comin for a
while now). my problem is this, its an OEM version of XP home, i bought the
pc two years ago and knew nothing about product keys etc.. i have the discs
but no productkey. i found the product id in the registry which looks
something like this, XXXXX-OEM-XXXXXXX-XXXXX. but after doin research into
the re-installation i found that setup asks for a 25 digit key! Will this
product id number work ??

also! the cd has service pack 1, can i still upgrade to SP2?

any help appreciated
lee.

As you still have XP installed down load and run either of the following,
they will reveal your XP Key, Belarc will also give you other useful
information about your machine.

Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit (version 7.0t)
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

The magical Jellybean key finder
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

Make sure you have your driver disks to hand or use the information from
belarc to get the drivers from your Motherboard manufacturers site.

Yes you can still upgrade to SP2.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Direct Download
