'Hi. I'd like to classify incoming and outgoing messages according to specifc
topics eg: 'Insurance claim', 'Budget 2008'. I already use the default
Outlook 2007 classication tool for to determine Action, Pending, Urgent etc,
so ideally I'm looking for another method or add-on to classify by topic. Any
ideas? Thanks.

Thanks Michael. I should have said my original post "I already use the default
Outlook 2007 CATEGORIES tool for to determine Action, Pending, Urgent etc. I
said CLASSIFICATION in error. Ideally I'd like to add a 'topic' field to each
message eg: 'Budget 2008', add that to the field headers in message list view
and sort, group etc on that flag. Any ideas? Many thanks.

Are you aware that you can assign more than one category to any item?
So, an email can be in both the "Action" and the "Budget" categories,
at the same time. Then, if you arrange email by category, that email
will appear in both listings.

Just right click the column headers, click Field Chooser, create a new
field, and drag that to the column headers. You can enter whatevery you
want, and sort and group by it.
