I cannot get rid of the multiple 'my Documents/shared
documents/Maureens documents that show in what used to be
the very simple 'file manager' in the older versions of
Windows - now the classic view in XP.

I find this so frustrating and would be eternally grateful
for advice. I have tried twiddling with the 'users' in
Control panel - this doesn't really help.

Maureen

They are not multiple folders, all of these icons point to the same folders
in Documents and Settings/<user name>. It's by design and simply makes it
easier to access these folders.
