Classic Start Menu: expanding folder SCs

I'm using the classic start menu and have added some
folder shortcuts. All of these shortcuts "expand"
automatically, dislaying subfolders until the files of
the last folder in the tree are shown. This has the
effect of not opening the folder, but running the file.

Is there any way I can get the Classic Start Menu to
merely open the folder (like Win98 used to), and not
expand?

Create a shortcut to your folder somewhere else (anywhere). Then put a shortcut to that shortcut on Start. Else right click any folder shortcut and choose Open.

Thanks Dave! Bit of a fiddle, but achieves what I want.
Pity they don't have an option for this function.

Cheers, Alwyn
