changing the background in the classic logon.

There's a setting you can change in the registry.

(WARNING: If you haven't worked with the registry before, take a look at
this first -

Go to the
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
key and change the value of "Wallpaper" to the path to your image.
