I am running a Citrix Metaframe server on Win2K. The user
in question got locked up trying to save an excel file.
After getting her backup on her Win Terminal I found that
the Excel files she was in were nolonger in her directory
as .xls files, instead there were alpha numeric files out
there which cannot be opened by any user including the
Administrator. The system is saying Cannot access read-
only document. I have gone to the management console and
ensured that no one is in the file. I can see no locks on
the file. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it.

If you get the attributes of this file, is it read only?
If so, can you clear the read-only attribute?

Can you rename it to a text file and open it using notepad
or similar editor? Can you copy it to a different
location, and then try to open it?
