      16th Apr 2004
when cisvc.exe is running it uses all of my resources.
Other than killing the program how can I fix this. There
is something on the Microsoft site about a hotfix

If you aren't using the Indexing Service you can uninstall it. Go to
Add/Remove Programs and look on the left for 'Add/Remove Windows
Components'. If you later decide to reinstall it, have your Windows XP CD
handy and go back to the same place.

Open the Help and Support Center and type Indexing Service into the white
search box, then click on the green arrow or simply press Enter. On the left
you'll see several articles that describe the Indexing Service.
