How do you circle text in a word document. The document is already typed and
is from a Government Department. The document states to circle your answer
say from the following: Yes / No / Not applicable

For 2003 insert an auto shape - you'll get a huge box saying to draw your
item there. Make your circle (shift and drag gives you a proper circle if
thats what you want). Right click it and format it to be infront or behind
(doesn't make too much difference for this) and then set the transparency to
100%. You can drag it out of the box over the word you want. You can play
with it a bit to get the desired line thickness and colour etc.

For 2007 click on the Insert tab, then shapes and circle (or what ever shape
you want) click and drag to make the shape over your desired text. You
should now have the Format tab open, click Shape Fill and click no fill to
make the word appear.

I hope this helps.

My guess is that they want you to print it and fill it out by hand.

In such instances, however, I select the appropriate word and apply a border
to the selected text.
