choppy video and audio on mpg files

I just got a new digital camera (Sony DSC-H7) and took my first video clips.
They playback great on the camera but the video and audio are choppy when
played using Windows Media Player. It plays back much better using Real
Player. Today I downloaded WMP 11, hoping this would help but it did not.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, as I want to share these video files
with family and most will want to use WMP. Thank you. Valerie
