Trent, I agree with you, there should be a way to reply from one default
account. I have several receive-only accounts and encounter the same
situation.
One solution is to set the reply address and outgoing server to the account
that you want to send from so when you reply, you get the reply from the
correct address and server.
Change the Outgoing server address...
and change log in information for the alternate SMTP server
Account settings menu> Change... > More Settings... button > Outgoing Server
tab > My Otgoing Server requires authentication > Log on using User name &
password
