choosing output format based on source dimensions

I am making movies with my (AVI) video source being
304x222. I usually save to a 320x240 output since that is
close to my original, but I wonder if actually a smaller
or larger size would give me better viewing quality (for
home computer/local disk use usually). Maybe the source-
output sizes being so close actually gives WMM problems
because the calculations become too fine? Any comments
would be appreciated.

thanks,
Greg

You should be able to do it fine... then check the file sizes and playback
quality to see if you're gaining on it. Just use a custom profile.

See the Saving Movies > Custom WMV Profiles of www.papajohn.org

thanks. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that it wasn't
until trying to understand your reply that I realized I
only have MM1 installed. I'll get MM2 and check out the
new save options.
