Bonjour,

Depuis peu, un message s'affiche sur l'écran de mon PC avant le lancement de Windows.
Ce message n'apparaissait pas avant (des mois d'utilisation) :
"Choisissez le système d'exploitation à démarrer :
- Microsoft Windows XP Edition familiale
- Console de récupération Microsoft Windows XP"
Pourquoi ce message intempestif et comment gère-t-on son affichage ? Comment m'en débarrasser ?
Merci d'avance.

I suggest you post to a French newsgroup, or repost in here in English.

Hi there,

Sorry for my mistake: I sometimes post on english language forums, when french people do not have the solution
So, I've got a subscription to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general but I actually wanted to post on microsoft.public.fr.windowsxp.

Thanks nass, I managed to get rid of this message by deleting the last line in BOOT.INI, under [operating systems] topic.
The line was: "C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Console de r,cup, ration Microsoft Windows XP" /cmdcons".

I'm just wondering how this line got to appear, but this is an other story. Maybe Windows Update. I understand this feature may be
useful, but for some reasons, I do not want it to appear on startup.

Cheers.

Hello,

A few weeks ago, a message started to appear on the screen of my PC just before Windows launch.
This message didn't appear before (for months). The message looks like this:
"Please select the Operating System to start:
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
- Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console"
How to manage the display of this message? How to get rid of it?
Thanks by advance.

You are welcome, glad you got it sorted, thanks for the feedback although it
isn't in French <G>.
Good luck.
