How do I run this utility?

I understand there is a "meter" that will show cpu usage. How do I run it?

either go to start, run and type chdsk and it will run in the command prompt
window, OR go to My computer, right click c: drive and click on tools tab,
the first item, error checking will run chkdsk. if you select the first
option within there, it will run when you next start your PC

The Utility with meter that you may be thinking of is Task Manager.

Ctl + Shift + Esc
Performance tab

Ctrl + Alt + Delete and Performance tab is the more usual sequence.

Richard.

Except that CAD won't bring up task manager on most computers (it's standard function is to display the security dialog - it shows TM only if the welcome screen is being used). CAE will on all.

That's odd, CAE, which I guess stands for Ctrl + Alt + Esc does not work for
my XP machine. CAD and CSE both are ok.

Richard.

Sorry meant CSE. CAE should be switching the active window similar to Alt + Tab but without a dialog..

I use Ctrl + Alt + Del. But as David said Ctrl + Shift + Esc will work on
all machines. That's why I post it that way. Right clicking the Taskbar |
Task Manager should work on all machines also.

Except if........
Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\System\Ctrl + Alt + Del Options\Remove Task Manager

Always exceptions. :-)

Using CTRL+ALT+DEL Key Combination to Open Windows Security Opens Task
Manager
