Power off, reboot with the XP boot CD - ANY XP boot CD. Enter the Recovery
Console and run chkdsk from there.

boot looping can
sometimes be fixed
with the fixboot
command via the
recovery console.

I would also run a
fixmbr for added
measure.

well i tried the fixboot in the recovery console, unfortunatley it didnt fix
it....The FIXMBR in the console, do i just type that in by itself..I already
did and of course i get the warring it may cause the hard drive to be
unreadable. Since i have never done that before i declined. Do i have
anything to worry about?

There's always something to worry about, so the question at the moment is,
what is the condition of your backups?

If there is anything you don't want to lose on that drive, stop now, attach
it to another system, and copy it off.

You don't need to run fixmbr. The fact that it gets as far as chkdsk is
proof that there is nothing wrong with the MBR.

when you ran chkdsk
via the recovery console
did you use any parameters
and simply accepted the
status it provided?

if so, I would run a chkdsk /p

trying to fix and they had viruses, so i cleaned them removed unused programs
and ran adaware, hyjack this and combofix...next i was going to chkdsk /r
