CHKDSK /F won't fix the errors

Hi,
I can't run Chkdsk /f anymore it just runs the three options instead of the four. When I run the Chkdsk /R from within
Windows it just verifies and doesn't fix anything.

If I run Chkdsk no option (read only) I get the following error:

>>CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the
>>master file table (MFT) bitmap.
>>Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap.
>>Windows found problems with the file system.
>>Run CHKDSK with the /F (fix) option to correct these.

I notified HP Email support and they told me to go into the recovery partition and run:
>diskpart

than:
> list volume

than with the proper drive letter:

>>bootcfg /default
>>
>>chkdsk c: /r

When I did I got this error:
>"THE VOLUME APPEARS TO CONTAIN ONE OR MORE UNRECOVERABLE PROBLEMS"

Can someone tell me what this is? Whether it is hardware or software?
I have deleted the partition, recreated it ,formatted, and reinstalled everything
but those error are still there.

Have a good day,
RScotti

remove "nospam" in order to email me.

If your talking about the PC Doctor for Windows, I already did that.
I ran the full long test for about 1 1/2 hours and everything passed.
I talked to Compusa and they said it sounded like a software problem but since
I deleted everything I can't see how that is possible.

There are cases where Chkdsk will report that error, but in
reality no inconsistency exists. I've personally seen a more
than a few PC's that exhibit that problem. Sometimes you can
run yourself silly trying to resolve the Bitmap errors.

Hi,
I talked to HP and they want me to send it back to them for a complete bench test.
I am still under warrantee.

PS,
The main reason I am sending it back is because I can't run the Chkdsk /F
NOT because of the MFT bitmap.
I feel I need that and since I did the delete the whole partition there is nothing more I can do.
