chkdsk everytime I boot?

Every time I boot my computer it wants to check the disk, the "d" drive. Is
there a way to shut this off? Also, I have two physical disks in my
computer, one "c" and the other is "d". Well for some reason I now have an
"f" which is identical to the "d" drive. Has anyone seen this before?

Larry,

1. You can shut this off with the help of the chkntfs command
chkntfs /X <drive> will exclude this drive from being checked at boot
time

2. At the same time, I don't understand why chkdsk is running every time.
You may want to have a look at your eventvwr and look at an event in the
Application log. Source: Winlogon. EventID: 1001. It should have the entire
CHKDSK log. What is the filesystem on D:? Is it FAT - in that case a dirty
shutdown will cause CHKDSK to be run. If it is NTFS - you definitely need to
have a look at your log - this is not expected.

All disks are NTFS. Also, I am running two adaptec raid controllers, one for
"c" system drive and the other for data "d" drive.

Take a look at your log and let me know what is it that CHKDSK is fixing.
