I suspect that you have a serious problem buried deep inside Windows. If it was my machine then I would rebuild it. Since you are already a user of DriveImage, you should make it a habit of taking a snapshot of your system twice each year, and keeping the two most recent image files. This would eliminate the two-day painful rebuilding exercise that you mention above. If you have a spare disk lying about then you could clone the current disk to that spare disk, using a Bart PE boot disk and xcopy.exe. This would eliminate any problem you might have with your file system but it would not eliminate problems with Windows itself. |
