I have been getting the occassional hang in Win XP Home SP3 (fully patched),
which requires that I perform a hard power down as it locks up. I have
looked on the web for solutions, but nothing has worked so far.
I decided to check the disc and ran CHKDSK C: /F
Looking at the winlogon event in the event viewer, I noticed that it had
problems in index $SII of file 0x9 and index $SDH of file 0x9. Each time I
ran it, the number of errors it claimed to have fixed, reduced. Now, every
time I run it, I am left with one error. I have included the event below:

Does anyone have any ideas why this file (whatever it is) cannot be fixed?
Not sure where to go from here. I am hoping that I will not have to do a
complete reinstall of Windows.
