Boot from the Vista DVD. Select Language, Time and Keyboard options on the
first screen. Select 'Repair your computer' on next. System Recovery will ask
which operating system you want to repair, select Vista which is probably the
only option. Pick Command Prompt on next screen. Type chkdsk C: /f (change
drive letter if the problem is on a drive other than C
