anyone had experience with intel e7205 chipset? might build a set for friend

Yes, i have the GA-8INXP motherboard with this chipset. It was only several
months ago this was the top end and sought after motherboard.

Now the GA-8KNXP has taken that title, still a very good chipset and solid
motherboard. You can overclock to 800MHz FSB.

Yes, apart from the AGP 8X chipset bug, it's a fine chipset. I suspect the
bug can be worked around by a setting in the video card drivers (fast
write).

Yes, of course. Basically, in boards based on the E7205 chipset (codenamed
Granite Bay), which is Intel's older workstation chipset, people who used an
AGP 8X complaint video card (like an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro) would experience
freezes and lockups. Most of the time, Windows would freeze, then return in
640x480 by 4 color mode.

Apparently Intel has acknowledged this to be a fault in their chipset. The
solution is for people to downgrade the video card compatibility from 8X to
4X, or, disable fast-writes in the video card settings.

Here are a few links for you to look at:

Hope this helps.
