Chipset fan failure

I have a ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard and the chipset fan has failed !!!

1. are they easy to replace ?
2. which one should i buy if answwer to above is yes ?

yep, i think most people go for the zalman passive one

yes mate relatively easy

Bit blurred your picture however I would think you could fit a normal 40mm fan on there if you can remove the chipset heatsink (some are glued to chip)

If you can remove (usually two small plastic retainers on corners) it the it can be replaced.

Had a quick browse around found this

Not sure about fixing tho unfortunately cant see properly.

Alternatively the Zalman heatsink at the bottom of that page may do. You wont need a fan if you have decent airflow Your best bet is to send an email stating your board and ask if it will fit

Whole motherboard had to come out and then the new fan had to be superglued in...also added 2 more 80mm fans at the same time...at least its working now
