My first attempt at a Master image was foiled by a Latitude D520 grabbing the
wrong chipset INF. The master image was built from an Optiplex GX520 that
uses the 945G chipset. The D520 uses the 945GM chipset, but for some reason
kept grabbing the 945.inf file for the desktops... my question, if I build
a new GX520 master image with my apps/settings, and I don'nt install the
chipset driver ( so it will not be in the windows/inf folder... what are the
negative ramifications of installing software on a computer without a chipset
driver?
I'm going to put the mobile chipsets in d/c/1 and the desktop chipsets in
d/c/2, so hopefullly the D520 will find the correct chipset driver in the
first chipset folder.

Just add the chipset drivers as if they where storage drivers in the
image...

For details...
