my computer sounds a double chime every five seconds, its
driving me nuts, help

Why? What event is set to play that sound? Look at your sounds and see
what event has the chimes set.

Control Panel
Sounds...
go thru the list and try them out until you get to the same sound bite, and choose none and
OK out.
