Hello...I hope someone can help me with this, though I have found
absolutely nothing useful in google searching.
I have programmed a model with numerous forms and reports, all of
which is working just fine. But now I am trying to add a new sort of
report, based off of an existing report that we like, and as I wrote
in the subject, "Child39:" is showing up at the beginning of the
"Detail" section of the report. Also, a blank page appears under the
"Child39:" and the data that should be on the first page is instead on
the second page.
There are no page breaks before the subreport that is inside the
Details section. Maybe I should back up, though.
The report as it exists, and works, has just a header in the header
section. Then, inside the "Details" section, which is the next one, it
has about 12 subreports representing different aspects of the
enterprise being studied in that report.The first subreport is a
"Summary" of the data (from a different source) in the 11 subreports
that follow it.
The first subreport also has yet another subreport within it, for
notes about the data from each of the other 11 sections, with a child-
parent relationship that represents each of the sections being
summarized. Those sections correspond to the other 11 subreports below
it.
In-between each subreport is a pagebreak with various visibility
commands, none of which seem to be relevant.
I hope that parses. LOL
At any rate. What I need to make now are 11 different reports that
contain the summary and just one of the other subreports mentioned
above. So, call the first one "Patrols".
Within the report that works, I deleted all the other subreports,
except Patrols and the Summary one. Everything works. I also deleted
all the page breaks and removed the events, and everything still
works. Except that I want the summary to only have the "Patrols" data.
But, when I go to make the Summary (which has data summarizing what
was in all the other 11 subreports) have only the "Patrols" summary
data, that is when the "Child39:" shows up on the first page, which is
otherwise blank after the header, basically a pagebreak also occurs
for some reason.
I know it is in the "Details" section of the report because when I add
stuff in the header section, it moves down. But it is before the
"Summary" subreport. I know from similar testing.
This happens if I put a "select...where" criterion on the datasource
(a query) for the Summary subreport. It also happens if I put a Filter
criteria in the data properties of that subreport.
But it ALSO happens when I make a new query for the record source that
includes only the "Patrol" summary data. I make this query outside of
the report, and then reference it. And that $%&# Child39: shows up!
So, no matter what I do to make the Summary subreport (the first
subreport) have only the Patrol data, "Child39:" shows up.
Oh, and there is NO Child39 in any of these reports, as far as I can
tell.
Please help! This can't only have happened to me!
