I receive the following error message when trying to run my Chessmaster
program. It worked okay in a ME computer. "No CDPath entry INI file. create
this entry edit your CM ini file and make a [path section and a CDPath entry
immediately following by the path to the CM4000 directory on your Chessmaster
CDRom

Have you checked on the game author's website for info on whether it will
run under XP and how to do so? Also there is a games newsgroup.

I have Chessmaster 8000 and can run it on my XP Pro. I don't know anything
about INI file, but you, of course, must download the CD to your hard drive,
following the instructions on the CD.

Does that mean the software author is no longer in business or just that
web site is gone?

The only other things I can suggest are posting to the games newsgroup and
do some searching on the web and newsgroups using Google search to see if
there is any info out there about it.
