I had a blackscreen when turn on the power
which said checksum bad. I had to readjust
the time and date everytime though the notebook
could boot. I wonder if the CMOS battery need to
be changed. I bought the computer only one year
ago. How long will the battery work under normal
condition?

Thank you for your help'

I think an estimate of well over two years would be
very conservative. Before replacing the battery, you
might try resetting CMOS (see your mainboard manual,
turn off your computer *at the surge protector* or unplug
it, and take precautions against static discharge), and set
up your BIOS again.
