Can anyone tell me what command to type in the "Run" box
from the Start menu that will check a computer for
missing files when the Windows cd is in the drive? Thanks.

sfc /scannow

sfc is the System File Checker. It also checks for files that have been
replaced with different versions. The System File Checker does not check all
Windows system files; only certain files that are essential for Windows
operation.
