Hi,

I'm using outlook 2003 with an imap server for email. Filtering is carried
out on the server and outlook does not show new messages in anything but the
inbox.

I've been through the help, and through all teh settings I could find, but
i've been unable to find a setting that tells outlook to check all imap
folders for new messages.

Anyone know where this setting is?

Click Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive Settings>Define Send/Receive Groups.
Select the group in which the IMAP account resides (probably All Account)
and click Edit. Select the IMAP account and put a check mark beside each
folder that Send/Receive should check. Normally, only the Inbox is checked.
I don't know any IMAP servers that deliver new mail to folders other than
the Inbox.

Excellent, thanks a lot, that solved it. If only the help were that useful.

My IMAP server sorts incoming mail into folders, because I do my mail
filtering on my server. The same principle as exchange server based rules I
suppose, although i've never used them in anger.

Thanks again for your help.
