When I check for updates it says that "Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1"
is an needed update and I installed it but every time I check for updates
there it is again and every time it says it installed OK. I have even
uninstalled it and updated it and it's back in the "Add or remove programs"
but still shows up as an needed update.
Another update problem is "Microsoft - Other Hardware - HID Non-User Input
Data Filter" it doesn't install but keeps coming up as an needed update.
Please help me to correct these problems.

Thanks,
Dennis

Issues with updates from windows update are best posted to the experts in
the Windows Update newsgroup.

Well that's surprising, but it is the best newsgroup for this question.
Have you searched the posts in that newsgroup for similar? I suspect it has
been asked and answered several times. If it's been a few days you might
want to repost and start the subject with "Second Post - ......".

Just a tip, if you post to a group and don't get a reply you might want to
mention that if you repost to another group to avoid getting suggestions to
go in a circle.

Did you work through the suggestions in the link I gave you?

Note, unless you have a program that needs .Net Framework, it doesn't have
to be on the system for XP to run, even though windows update offers it.
The various versions of .Net Framework are only needed if a particular app
needs them.
