Check Names/Name Resolution Ceased Working

Not sure why, but name resolution has stopped working such that when I type
in a partial name that used to resolve itself, nothing happens. If I try to
send an email with the partial name or choose Check Names from the menu bar,
Outlook hangs. Any assistance would be appreciated.
