Download the free Everest diagnostic utility from:
http://www.lavalys.com/products/over...?pid=1&lang=en

You'll get a good idea of ALL the new PC's components including the CPU.

Martin.

My friend bought PC today, with Sempron64 processor.
I don't know how to check if he really have it (software way)
I went in BIOS, looked in Sistem Properties (WinXP - SP2) and it
only displays "AMD Sempron 2500".
I want to know If dealer made a mistake

Thanks, I'll try that, but are you sure it can detect Sempron64 ?
The dealer told me that processor technologu is old one month,
and on lavalys site I see it's last updated in August 2005 ?

It should even if the software is a few months old -- the "CPUID"
function in Everest reports what the CPU says it is not what the
software knows about it. For example on this computer the CPU reports:

Field Value
CPUID CPU Name Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz

But if you want another freebie you might try:

CPU-Z
Version 1.23.1
August 2004
Contact : (E-Mail Removed)
Web page: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

CPU-Z is a freeware and can be freely distributed.
