check disk problems

hey, im not very good with computers but my laptop which runs xp restarts at at any time and does a check disk. i am unsure what to do.
if you can help, please do. thanks

is the chkdsk finishing or do you keep restarting it as its doing it?

Break your computer and learn to fix it.

aye, let it run, report it's finding to us ... I suspect, however, you may need a new hard drive shortly.

My reply would have been the same as Mr Mucks. Chkdsk runs for a reason.

it completes the check disk, ill start a manual one now and tell you what it says once its complete.
ive been told by friends that the inside of my computer may have dust in it? if so how do i clean it out? thanks.

you deal with dust the same way no mater where you find it, you won't, however, find any IN the hard drive, so don't open it.

If CHKDSK reports any "bad sectors/clusters" replace the hard drive ASAP.

it doesnt say that. it just tells me how much kb and what type of folder they are in?

Then if you are running it correctly and it give you now errors your drive may well be fine

START>RUN>CMD>CHKDSK /F

In Black window type 'Y' enter

Reboot
