Anyone know any?

My gf's laptop has just kicked the bucket with three weeks of uni left, so if anyone can recommend a laptop that could be bought from a shop it would be appreciated.

Doesn't need to do anything except word processing and movie watching. Thinking about going down to pcworld, or maybe overclockers seeing as they are only down the road from me.

Toshiba or the Samsung netbook range is very good value for money if you don't mind the small screen and having to use an external optical drive (typically about 30 quid for an external optical drive).

Or you could get a Macbook, they're very good but trouble is they cost 22 million quid.

I agree both Toshiba and Samsung offer great quality netbooks and laptops, pick one of them that suits you.

Cheers for the responses.

It seems to be a t0ss up between a Toshiba and an HP.

For some reason, the HP G62-451 and the HP G62-452 appear to be exactly the same but with different names.

Is it possible these are just being changed by the individual sellers?

I felt like singing an old Genesis song from The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway...
