You have to be kidding - check out staples -

for $65.00 or higher -

Good luck -

current conversion rate is $1AUD = $0.65USD

so it roughly equals out to $32.10 USD.

But printers in australia aren't exactly cheap. So the $65USD would really
be priced at $150AUD or therabouts, depending on the store.

Lived there - still can't get over the price differences.

They're around the $920-940AUD mark at the moment (600-612USD). You are
right-it is the 1290 here.

Why would you bother with Epson at all? Correct me if I am wrong, but I have
read that all the latest Epson printers report when the cartridge is
empty.......... but if you refill them , the computer still recognises it as
an "old" or "empty" cartridge, and refuses to print with it ..... locking
you into buying a brand new cartridge each & every time you run out of
ink......!!! To make matters even worse, an independent study I read only
last week reported that Epson cartridges showed "empty" warnings when there
was variously between 17% and 34% of ink still left in the cartridge. This
makes Epson ink, milligram for milligram, as expensive as gold....... this
painful situation applies with the HP 5550 (and all future new printers)
too, so I will be sticking to Canon or Lexmark, thankyou very much.

cheers

That's one of the reasons I tended to lean away from Epson and HP - the
hassle of refilling the latest cartridges can be a pain. The Canon is so
much easier to refill.
