Seems Woolworth's are selling a lot of albums at a cheap price:
Bruce Springsteen - Greatest Hits @ £5
A-HA The hits of A-HA @ £3
Duran Duran - The Hits & £5
Plenty of others & even DVD's starting @ £1
Can i just admit i have bought at least one of the above

I remember Woolworths when the floors were bare wood with sawdust sprinkled on 'em. Straight up guv, tis the truth.

7" vinyl singles were 6s 8d each or 3 for a quid.

Or if you was a real cheapskate, you'd buy the Embassy label version, which was not the genuine artist.

They was a bit crap, them embassy singles.

All the staff wore maroon nylon outfits and you were allowed to smoke in there.

This should dovetail neatly with itsme's 60's motoring thread

Tell ya what, listening to Aha now, they weren't actually too bad - or maybe I'm mellowing.

Don Van Vliet 1941 - 2010. And the acid gold bar swirled up and down, up and down.
