Some of us don't need a weather vane to know which way the wind blows

A large degree of common sense combined with a good working knowledge of component current consumption tells me what PSU I need.

And if you research enough you can find out on the Internet exactly how many watts the average component will draw.

And if in doubt, don't subscribe to entrepeneurs who can only speak pigeon English, just buy a bigger power supply, always handy to have more than you need

I think the free version of the software is pretty good for folk who want a quick and easy idea of the power consumption of a proposed new build. Or for folk who are thinking of upgrading an existing build.

I have used it on several builds and their estimate was pretty close to the actual power usage of the pc's I built.
Doubt if the Pro version is of much use to newbies and a expert would not really need it.
