Chart x axis Col A, Y axis Col b

I can't figure out how to make a chart for a worksheet where I want col A to
be x axis(date)
and col B (or whatever) the Y axis (price). Have gone through chart wizard
many times trying to find a way to specify which col to use for which axis,
also read the help but can't find the answer.
Is this possible?
