Excel 2003 - there appears to be a 255 character display limit on a
referenced chart title. Is there a way to exceed this? One of my chart
specifications has a title 373 characters long.

If there was a way to exceed it, then it would not be the limit.

There is a workaround - use two text boxes for the title
Unless you are using XL2007;
-use the tile for the first part of the text
-click the chart, type the second half of text; hit Enter key
-drag resulting text box to required position

Hi,

No you can not exceed the limit.
You can however use a textbox instead. Or use another title element, such as
the y-axis title to hold the extra words.
