I have a Compaq Armada E500 laptop. Tha battery will no longer hold a
charge, I have no reason to buy a new battery bacause it sits on a dock
plugged into AC power all the time. When the battery is inserted, the
internal fan and the charging led will turn on and off at the same time. If
I take the battery out, the fan or charging led do not come on at all. It
just started doing this today, I have had this laptop for over 4 years. Any
ideas? Thanks

A battery replacement that costs approximately $130 seems like a
light-investment that may solve all your issues.
